Campers Smiling

Autumn DIY Instruments

We celebrate the fall by singing seasonal music and movement songs and teach children how to make instruments from pine cones and gourds.

Rainbow Keytar

Electronic Instruments

We introduce children to a variety of electronic instruments like the keytar (keyboard and electric guitar hybrid) and Voice Box Harmony Vocoder that add sound effects and harmonies to your voice.

Student Trumpet Player

Countdown to Noon Parade

We celebrate the end of 2018 with an interactive New Years Parade with live marching drums and instruments for families to play.

Popular Library Programs

Kids Playing Drum

Djembe - African Drum Circle

This program gets both adults and children up moving and dancing to the beat! Children learn about African drumming and play an authentic African djembe. During the session, children will play hand drums, sing songs, and end the session with a traditional African dance circle.

Girls Students Bucket Drumming

Bucket & Recycled Instruments

Children learn how to make music and play rhythms using buckets and other recycled items found around any home. This program teaches children creativity and how to make music from ordinary objects.

Student Playing Theremin

Silly Sounds & Instruments

Children explore and make music using a theremin, an instrument that can be played without any physical contact. Children will also play other unique sounding instruments like boom whackers and the didgeridoo.

Boy Playing Floor Piano 2

Walking Piano

Playing the piano can be lots of fun, but playing using your feet can be even more exciting. Children will learn how to play songs using an oversized piano mat synthesizer.

CCJP Storytime

Musical Stories

Our musical storytelling program teaches children how musical elements like rhythm, dynamics, and tempo can be used with classroom instruments to represent characters in some of our favorite stories like “Three Little Pigs”, “Little Red Riding Hood”, and “Peter and the Wolf”.

Students Playing Hand Bells

Festival of Bells

Children learn how to create harmony and melody using hand bells, steel drum and a glockenspiel (metal xylophone).
